Gerald E. Pease of Topsham, formally of Bristol, died Thursday, December 17th at Mid-Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

He was born in Rockland, Maine on March 9th, 1945 the son of Palmer and Margaret Beattie Pease. He attended Rockland schools and graduated from Rockland High School in 1963.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1963 and rose to the rank of an M5 Sergeant. On May 27th 1972 he married the love of his life and soul mate, Barbara Mennealy and they lived for many happy years in Sudbury, MA.  He worked for Perkins Institute for the Blind in Watertown, MA for nearly 30 years. Upon retiring they soon moved home to Maine and to Bristol.

He enjoyed the family camp on Norton's Pond where he learned to love boating and fishing, a pastime that lasted his whole life.  He was a meticulous home owner, always maintaining  his beautiful home in pristine condition. He looked forward to family times with his brothers and nieces and nephews and with those special times with Barbara's family.

Surviving is his wife, Barbara Pease of Topsham, his brother William and his wife, Elaine, of Lancaster, PA, his brother, Ronald and his wife, Carolyn, of Gorham, ME, his sister-in-law, Arlene of CT and many beloved nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his oldest brother, Richard.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the Highlands for the wonderful care and kindnesses they extended to "our Jerry".

Services for Jerry will be private and in the spring.
