Poitras Labbe.  He attended Brunswick Schools and was a 1971 graduate of Brunswick High School.  On June 26, 1971, he married Blanche M. Labbe.

He worked at Pejepscot Paper Company for eight years and was a member of the United Paperworks International Union.  In November of 1980, he started work at Bath Iron Works as an outside machinist in Department 09.  From January of 1989 to December of 1996, he was a front line supervisor, returning to the tools in December of 1996, until his retirement in February of 2016.  He was a member of Local S6.

He enjoyed hunting with his son, son-in-law, brother, brothers-in-law, nephews and friends.  He loved fishing, both in the Kennebec River and the Atlantic, and his ice fishing trips up north.  For many years, the family would spend school vacations in Jackman snowmobiling with family and friends.

He was a Third and Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.  He was also a Trophy Life Member of the North American Hunting Club.  In his younger years, he was a volunteer for the Durham Fire Department and helped coach and umpire baseball for the Durham Farm League.  He also played many seasons on a men's softball league.

He is survived by his wife Blanche of nearly forty-six years and his two children: daughter, Karen Farmer, and her husband, James M. "Mike,” of Brunswick, and son, Richard Labbe, Jr., and his girlfriend, Samantha, and her son, Noah, of Livermore Falls.  He is also survived by his mother, Loretta M.J. Labbe, of Brunswick; a sister, Joyce Dennis, and her husband, Doug, of Florida; and a brother, Michael Labbe, and his wife, Kathy, of Brunswick; and by his three grandchildren who he adored and loved seeing, Bailee Postelle and her boyfriend, Willie, Lyric Labbe and Wyatt Farmer, as well as many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced.  Those who wish may leave a note of condolences and memories to the family at www.stetsonsfuneralhome.com.
