Brunswick-Ann Sternberger Lampert passed away on Saturday, November 11th at Mid Coast Hospital. She was born on January 4, 1925 in Newark, New Jersey to Katharine Martin Sternberger and Robert Oscar Sternberger.  Her family moved to Saint Anne d’buepre, Quebec when she was 18 months old and they returned to the US when Ann was 8.

Ann attended Glen Ridge, New Jersey schools and graduated in 1943.  She attended Centenary College in Hackettstown New Jersey and graduated in 1945.

Ann met Robert Paul Lampert on a blind date while he was attending Lehigh University and they married in 1946.  They lived in Glen Ridge and moved to Rumford, Maine in 1948.  In 1950 they moved back to New Jersey and returned to Maine in 1961.  After her husband’s death in 1984 she moved from her house on Maine Street to her Brookmere condo, which she loved.

Ann was an avid golfer who won the women’s club championship in Brunswick twice in the 1980’s.  She was a passionate sports fan and followed the Red Sox religiously.  Ann also enjoyed bridge and knitting.  She volunteered for many years at Regional Memorial Hospital.

Ann is predeceased by her husband, Robert, and brother, Robert.  She is survived by her two children, Richard and Susan, their spouses Jill and Richard, and by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Coastal Humane Society, 190 Pleasant Street, Brunswick will be gratefully appreciated.  As per her wishes there will be no memorial service.
