David L. Foster

Topsham-David L. Foster, age 79 of Foster Lane, died Thursday, February 15th at his residence.  He was born December 3, 1938 in Topsham, the son of Holman and Virginia Hasty Foster.

He was educated in Brunswick schools and was member of the Brunswick High School class of 1957.  After high school, he drove bulldozers for Stuart’s.  From 1962 to 1964 he served in the U.S. Army.  He then worked for BIW, retiring after 38 years.

David enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing the lawn, cutting wood, clam digging, lobstering and picking fiddleheads (but not eating them). He was a member of the Brunswick Elks and the Topsham Legion.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Robin Taylor of Topsham, Linda Foster and her companion Jim Campbell, and Shannon-Starr Foster of Brunswick, stepson Bryan Miller, 4 grandchildren, Ryan and Ruby Taylor, Jessi-Leigh Foster, and Emerald McKinney, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Myrtle Golding of Topsham, several nieces and nephews, and Sammy the cat, his pride and  joy.

He is predeceased by a brother, Richard Foster.Visiting hours will be Wednesday, February 21st from 4-7PM at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.  A celebration of his life will be Thursday, February 22nd at 2PM at the Brunswick Elks.  Spring burial will be in Rogers Cemetery, Topsham on Thursday, May 17 at 11AM.
