Brunswick – Angelyn L. Medary  93, of Brunswick died Saturday, January 5, 2019.

Affectionately known as "Ann” or "Sis” to family and friends, she was born on May 21, 1925 in Boothbay to Guy and Pretoria McComiskey Lewis.

Ann attended schools in Boothbay, Woolwich, Bath and Brunswick, and later graduated from Wilfred Academy in Boston as a certified cosmetologist and licensed hairdresser.

She married William "Bill” Medary in 1952 and accompanied him on assignments during his military tenure across the country and Europe. She returned to Brunswick following her husband’s retirement from military service and was the owner/operator of Ann’s Beauty Salon for roughly forty years. In 1968, Ann and Bill purchased a large home on Belmont Street which they partially converted to apartments and rented to college students and local residents until her move in 2015. After her retirement, they wintered in Dunedin, Florida until Bill’s death in 1997.

Ann enjoyed traveling, social gatherings with family and friends, and hosting parties at her home including an annual lobster bake in the backyard. With her sharp wit and zany personality—Ann loved to make people laugh especially over a good cocktail. In her later years, she was a volunteer at Mid Coast Hospital and People Plus.

Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, a sister Dorothy and her husband Ralph Morton, Sr. of Boothbay, a brother William Lewis of Brunswick, brother Guy Lewis, Jr. and wife Rita of Topsham, brother Barry Lewis and wife Jane of Brunswick, brother Robert Lewis and wife Beverly of Rockport, and niece Carole Lewis of Topsham. She is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews located in Maine, Kansas, Florida and Ohio. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Brunswick in the spring. Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick where memorial condolences may be expressed at stetsonsfuneralhome.com
