Doris E. Wyngaard

August 3, 1921 - January 24, 2010
Topsham- Doris E. Wyngaard, 88 of Toths Road passed away Sunday, January 24 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in South Portland in a lighthouse called Bug Light on August 3, 1921 the daughter of Captain Harold F. and Gladys Bell Simmons Marr. She was delivered by her Grandmother, Angie Marr, who was a midwife. Her Grandfather, Preston Marr was a lighthouse keeper from 1891 to 1933.

She attended Boston and Portland schools and worked for John J. Nissen Baking Company from 1943 to 1968. She married John A. Wyngaard in 1968 and moved to the Albany N.Y. area where she supervised the cake and bread departments at Freihofers Bakery. Her husband passed away in 2002 after 34 years of marriage.

She is survived by her son Thomas Minervino of Topsham, stepchildren Bruce Wyngaard of Marble Cliff, OH, Grace Wyngaard of Falls Church VA, Claire Wyngaard of Woodbridge, VA, Mary Flynn of Lakehurst, NJ, Marge Huston of Deer Park, TX, grandson David Minvervino of Freeport, and sister Beatrice Dulac of Scarborough.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, January 29 from 3PM to 6PM at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick where a funeral service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, January 30, with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Stetson’s Funeral Home Reception Center. Burial in Forest City Cemetery, South Portland will be in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Coastal Humane Society, 30 Range Road, Brunswick, Maine 04011.
