BRUNSWICK – Dorothy A. Favreau Robinson, age 94, Sunnybrook Village, Brunswick, peacefully and gently went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2014.

She was born in Brunswick on Feb. 9, 1919, the daughter of Telesphore and Zepherina Schinck Favreau. She attended Brunswick schools. On Sept. 6, 1941, she married Carl D. Robinson at St. John’s Church and they celebrated over 41 yrs. of marriage before his death Jan. 9, 1983.

She retired at the age of 62 after working most of her adult life as a fancy-stitcher at local shoe shops. Having a small shoe size, she often was used to test out sample shoes prior to full production and as a result, her closet was also full of many shoes! After she was widowed, she was fortunate to have a dear friend and companion, Tony Fortin, to spend time with going out to meals, movies, bowling or just making puzzles. She was an energetic, quick-moving, hard-working woman who loved to read, make puzzles, crochet or knit, garden, walk (for miles) and be outdoors.

She particularly loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (who were the delight of her later years). She enjoyed many years at her home on the New Meadow’s River in the log cabin she and her husband built puttering outdoors, enjoying the view and watching the osprey who nested at the water’s edge, going on senior bus trips and walking all over with her life-long friend, Bea Dubois. Until the age of nearly 90, she was active in the senior bowling league and enjoyed many Saturday morning breakfasts at Grand City with friends.

Her family is particularly grateful for the years of contented living, activities and wonderful care she received from all the staff at Sunnybrook Village in Brunswick. She was treated like a favorite grandmother and she enjoyed companionship from so many others living there and her wonderful smile brightened their days as well.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl, three infant children (George, Georgette and Anita), one great-grandson, Scott Robinson, Jr., two sisters, Edwina and Rhea, and five brothers, Raymond, Roland, Fernand, Rudolph and Felix.

Surviving are a son, Scott Robinson and his wife Kathleen, two daughters, Ashi (formerly Martha) and her husband, Vince Tango, and Mary Maloney and her husband Tom Maloney; four grandsons, Michael Robinson and his wife Kim, Andrew Napier and his wife Alicia, Christopher Gamache and his wife, Kelly and Keith Gamache; ten great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and four siblings, Helen Terry (Evans, GA), Paul Favreau and his wife Rose, Leo Favreau and his wife Carol, and Peter Favreau, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 8th at 11 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish 132 McKeen St. Brunswick with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Spring interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.
