Carolyn Roberts Kennett, a longtime resident of Conway, N.H. died on February 6, 2015 at Hawthorne House, Freeport, Maine. Carol was born on June 10, 1922 in Oak Park, Illinois and spent her childhood there. Carol and her parents, Elizabeth and Chapin Roberts, were summer residents at Pine Knoll Camp for Girls in Albany, NH where the family met her future husband and his parents.

Carol attended Swarthmore College then transferred during World War II to National College of Education where she earned a teaching degree. She and Frank E. Kennett, Jr. were married in 1945 and lived in the Boston area for a few years while Frank finished his architecture degree at MIT. In 1950 they moved to Conway, NH where they were to make their permanent home. During the 1960s and ’70s Carol taught at the Intervale Preschool; in the 1980s she joined the staff of the Conway Public Library, where she loved her work and made many friends until her retirement in 1999.

Always active in the community, Carol was a founding member of Memorial Hospital Volunteers and also served as a hospital trustee. Carol was also an active member of the local chapter of the American Association of University Women. She took great pleasure in reading, gardening, flower arranging and travel. She will be remembered for her gracious manner and her dry wit.

Carol was pre-deceased by her husband Frank in 2002 and by her brother David C. Roberts in 2004. Carol is survived by her son Peter and wife Joanne of South Hamilton, Massachusetts; her son Bruce and partner Sylvia Davatz of North Conway, NH and Hartland, Vermont; her daughter Lee and husband John Paige of Brunswick, Maine, and grandchildren — Ethan, Chapin and Owen Kennett, Ian, David and Bonnie Paige.

A memorial service in late spring/early summer will be held at the Conway Village Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcomed to The Theater Project, 14 School St., Brunswick, ME 04011, the Conway Public Library, P.O.
