Richard L. Saucier

Topsham- Richard L. Saucier, age 84, of Topsham died Wednesday, December 2 at his home.  He was born December 16, 1930 in Brewer, ME, the son of Maxime and Clarisse Bosse Saucier.

He attended Topsham and Freeport schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.  He married Pauline Bergeron and they raised six awesome children.  She passed away on July 20, 1968.  On January 20, 1979, he married Jeannette Bolduc. 

He worked for Bath Iron Works for 39 years, retiring in March of 1991.

Richard was an avid farmer raising many animals and tending a large garden.  He was an active member of the American Dairy Goat Association.  He loved to spend time at his camp on Pleasant Pond and enjoyed gatherings with his family and friends and his special sidekick, his dog Lilly.  He was a long-time member of All Saints Parish.

Surviving besides his wife Jeannette of Topsham, are five daughters, Paula Hildreth and her husband Joe, Donna Brawn and her husband Jonathan, Sandra Johnson and her husband George, Monica Hildreth and her husband Rusty, and Rena Frank and her husband Chris, step-children Nola Ormsby, Jon Ormsby, Claire Levesque, and CelesteTamburello, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a son, Rick Saucier.Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 7 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 7 at 1 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish, 132 McKeen St. Brunswick.  Burial with military honors will follow at St. John’s Cemetery Brunswick.
