Mark C. Caron

Durham-Mark Charles Caron, age 48, passed away in his home on Sunday June 12th, 2016, in the evening. Mark suffered from a massive heart attack.

Mark has two beautiful girls, Emily and Anna, and a very strong wife, Karyn.Mark was born on June 8th, 1968, to Roger and Shirley Caron.

Surviving are his daughters, Emily and Anna, his wife Karyn, his mother and father, Shirley (Hall) and Roger Caron of Harpswell, a sister, Lynn McPheters and her husband, Mark McPheters of Richmond, a niece Kaitlin Hilchey and her husband Tyler and her daughter Sophia all of Chelsea, a nephew Benjamin McPheters and his wife Amanda and daughter Jolene all of Scarborough, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mark was an active man who loved the outdoors. Mark was not only one of the world’s best and dedicated cyclists, but he was a canoe racer, avid skier, and wind surfer. Mark was an incredible athlete, but more so an incredible father.

Mark’s presence in both the local and cycling communities was like none other. Mark’s name was not just a name, it was a symbol of strength and integrity. Mark truly embodied the soul of cycling. He was passionate about every aspect of the sport.

Mark loves his girls and wife, and was the most selfless and supportive dad. There was no man better fit to raise, love, nurture, and support Emily and Anna.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 17th from 6-8PM at Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Mark’s life will be held Saturday, June 18th at 12 Noon at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish 132 McKeen St. Brunswick where a reception will follow in the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers, an educational fund has been established at Bank of America in the name of Mark Caron and Family. Donations may be made at any branch of Bank of America and a branch manager will be of assistance in putting funds into the Mark Caron and Family educational fund. In addition, a Go Fund Me page has been established in honor of Mark Caron and Family.
