Larry Alan Williams

Harpswell- Larry A. Williams age 59 of Basin Point Road  died Friday, August 5th at Mid Coast Hospital. He attended Brunswick High School and graduated from Mt Ararat in 1974. He worked at Goodwin’s Chevrolet for more than 20 years. On  December 5, 1981 he married the former Tracy Jenkins.  He loved his work and the people he worked with. He was very active in the 3rd Maine Civil War reenacting. He held the positions of Department and Camp Commander for the Sons of Union Veteran's of the Civil War. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus for many years. He was also a member of the Brunswick Elks. He loved to go fast whether it be on his Harley motorcycle, snowmobile or hotrod, the faster the better.  He loved being a mechanic. " If you love what you do you will never work a day in your life.” He was a loving husband and the best father a child could ask for.

He was a man of many talents. He loved many and was loved by many.  He is survived by his wife Tracy Williams of Harpswell, a daughter Christy and her husband Jeremy Knee of Bath, a son Peter Williams who is stationed in Plattsburgh NY, three granddaughters, Ciera Williams, Paige Moore, Dorothy Knee and two grandsons Garrett and Tyi Williams, His parents Dorothy and Alan Williams of Harpswell , a sister Vickie and husband Dale McGlauflin of Harpswell. Sister inlaws Kim Berry, Lisbon, Kate Gunter Kennebunk, brothers in laws  Jeff Jenkins Glasgow KY, Marty Jenkins Lebanon PA ,Heath Jenkins Lisbon. Larry  is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, August 9th from 4-5:40PM at Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick, where an Elks vigil service will follow at 5:40 PM. A funeral service will be held following the Elks Vigil Service at 6PM at the funeral home. Immediately following the service the family would like to invite you to join them at the Brunswick Elks Lodge 179 Park Row, Brunswick.
