Freeport-John E. Rollins age 90 of Fernald Road died Monday,
October 21st at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
He was born on October 21,1929 the son of George and Nellie
Eldridge Rollins. Shortly after graduating from Brunswick High School, John
married the love of his life Ellen P. Benoit.
John worked at Bath Iron Works as a supervisor for over
twenty years.
He was the companion of Mary Capen for the past ten years
after his wife Ellen’s death. John was especially loved by his children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John loved country music. He enjoyed playing and singing in
his country band.
In addition to his wife he was also predeceased by a
brother, Dean Rollins and two sisters, Muriel White and Lois Jeffrey.
Surviving is a son Mark Rollins and his wife Cindy of
Stratton. Two daughters Debra Johnson of Bailey’s Island and Cynthia DesRosiers
and her husband Roger of Brunswick. A son in-law Sonny Johnson. He is also
survived by seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am Monday, October 28th
at the Riverside Cemetery in Brunswick. A reception with the family will follow
immediately after the service at Durham AMVETS Hall 1049 Royalsborough Road,
