Durham & New Gloucester, Maine-Frederick A. Gorgone III “Chip”, 61 passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME after along illness.

He was born in Brighton, MA on March 30, 1948 the son of Frederick A. Gorgone Jr. and Gertrude V. Gorgone. Chip attended Wellesley Public Schools and was a graduate of Washington College class of 1970. Chip was a lifetime employee of Allstate Insurance Company as a Casualty Claims Adjuster.

Chip is survived by his fiancé’ Karen Bonnell of New Gloucester, ME his three sons Sean and his wife Ali Gorgone of Casselberry, FL, Frederick A. Gorgone IV of Durham, ME and Nicholas Gorgone of Brunswick, ME, his grandchildren Jonah and Brayden Gorgone of Casselberry, FL, his mother Gertrude V. Gorgone of Wellesley, MA, siblings Patricia Schofield and her husband Robert of Wayland, MA, Christopher L. Gorgone and his wife Marcia of Wellesley Hills, MA, Paula Gorgone of Watertown, MA, Robert L. Gorgone of Watertown, MA; Pamela Gorgone and her husband Gary Hilderbrand of Watertown, MA and Peter D. Gorgone and his wife Linda of Danvers, MA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Frederick A. Gorgone Jr.

Chip was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golf, fishing, hiking and loved spending time with his dog Manny. His love of friends and family always kept him busy entertaining and taking care of others. His generosity was unsurpassed and he will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Visiting hours will be 11-1 Wednesday, June 3rd at Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick, ME with a service to follow at 1PM. A private burial will be held in Wellesley, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Durham River Park, Durham, Maine 04222. A memorial tribute may be viewed and memorial condolences may be expressed at stetsonsfuneralhome.com
