Florence A. Bartlett

Topsham-Florence A. Bartlett, 85, of Ward Road died Sunday, October 11th at her home surrounded by her family and long-time friend Margaret “Pinky” Karawowski.
She was bond in Yarmouth February 9, 1924, the daughter of Lawrence and Lucy Richards DeRoche. She attended Yarmouth schools.
On October 11, 1947 she married James F. Bartlett Sr. who passed away on July 10, 1983.
Mrs. Bartlett was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for her family.
In later years she enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing cards with her close friends and was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
She was a member of St. Andrews Mission in Pejepscot, ME for over 60 years, until its closing in 2009.
She is survived by her two sons James Bartlett Jr. and his wife Alice and Dwight Bartlett and his wife Janice all of Topsham, and a brother Ernest DeRoche of Yarmouth.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brother Edmond DeRoche.
Memorial visiting hours will by held on Friday, 4-7PM at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, 1PM at St. John’s the Baptist Church, Brunswick followed by interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.
