Auburn-Alberta Ida McKinney age 85 of Minot Avenue and formerly of Brunswick died Sunday, June 9th at Clover Manor.
She was born in Brunswick, on February 14, 1928 the daughter of Louis L. and Loretta D. Morin Huard. She attended St. John's School.
On May 15, 1943 she married Arthur McKinney. He died on August 27, 2003.
Alberta worked as a stitcher at Auerbach Shoe then worked in a medical office for Dr. Weaver. Alberta continued working in the cafeteria at Coffin School and for many years worked as a housekeeper.
Alberta's greatest joy in life was her family, especially her children and grandchildren; she enjoyed spending quality time with them throughout the year and especially at holidays. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and going to a camp in Machias with her family. She loved utility boat racing which she did with her husband Arthur, traveling the circuit to various rivers, lakes and ponds. She loved traveling and all kinds of outdoors activities as well as her flower gardens.
She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and St. John's the Baptist Church.
Surviving is a daughter Ann Cantrell of Buckfield. A son Barney McKinney and his wife Carol of Richmond. A sister-in-law Connie Huard of Topsham. Also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
In addition to her husband she was also predeceased by a son Richard McKinney in 1979.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Friday, June 14th at St. Charles Borromeo Church- All Saints Parish 132 McKeen St. Brunswick with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Brunswick.
