Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY – Amelia "Millie" Sadlon Natale of Kirby Road died peacefully at home late Tuesday, October 9th. Born in Greenfield November 14, 1929, she was the youngest child of John and Suzanna Sadlon in Porters Corners.  In 1951 Millie married Louis J. Natale of Saratoga and moved away first to Florida and then to Long Island, NY, visiting the Saratoga area frequently until Lou's retirement in 1980.  They then moved back permanently to Greenfield and then Saratoga Springs. Millie worked at the Saratoga State Park Par 29 nine hole golf course from 1987 to 1994.  Fiercely independent and wonderfully creative, Millie was a unique individual.  She beautified the grounds at the Kirby Road apartments with her gardens and the halls with her flower arrangements, and shared her wonderful cooking with others.  Even when she lost nearly all her sight, she still enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crafts. Millie was predeceased by her husband, her son Joseph Natale, three brothers – John, Rudy and Stephen Sadlon, three sisters – Betty Steglik, Christina Birbles and Susan Szymarek. Millie is survived by her daughter Patricia Natale Hodgdon, her husband Ron and granddog Abby of Pownal, Maine, two nephews – Jeffrey Sadlon of Middle Grove and Thomas Sadlon of Greenfield Center, and one niece – Cheryl Sadlon Willard of Greenfield Center. At Millie's request there will be no calling hours and a graveside service will be for family only.  The family would like to thank Community Hospice of Saratoga Springs for the attentive care they provided, and to the Saratoga County Office for the Aging and Rosalyn Becker of Middle Grove for making it possible for Millie to remain in her home.  Memorials may be made to Community Hospice at 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY  12866. Arrangements are by Stetson's Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick, Maine 04011 where memorial condolences may be expressed at stetsonsfuneralhome.com
