Brunswick-Andrew Wright, age 85, passed away Friday, March 11th at Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath. He was born January 5, 1926 in Glasgow, Scotland the son of William and Lily Barr Wright. He graduated from Albert Senior Secondary School in Glasgow and received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal College of Science and Technology/Strathclyde University, Glasgow. He was an electrical transmission engineer for most of his life. On December 1, 1952 he married Sarah Gribben Cowie, who passed away on May 29, 2007. Drew immigrated to Yonkers, NY in 1957 and up until his retirement in 1982, had 26 years employment tenure with the 3 merged corporations of Anaconda Co., Atlantic Richfield Co., and Ericsson Inc. He lived in Ardsley, NY for 26 years, after which he retired to Bailey Island, Maine for five years, settling in Brunswick, Maine in 1987. He was a member of First Parish Church and a past Chief of Clan MacGregor, Yonkers in the Order of Scottish Clans, U.S.A. and Canada. Drew is survived by a niece, Mrs. Lilian Lowe of Glasgow, several cousins and special friends James and Barbara Stewart of Kingfield, ME. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19th at 12 Noon at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, with the Rev. Geoff Parker officiating.
