Topsham-Carrie A. Johnson age 79 of River Road died Sunday evening at her home. She was born in the Philippines on August 10, 1932 the daughter of Rafael and Romualda Salazar Alcala. In 1954 Carrie graduated from Women's College. On December 8, 1956 she married Robert A. Johnson in the Philippines. He died on May 11, 2010. They moved various places as Bob's military career dictated. Carrie served as both a father and mother while Bob was on deployment doing everything from housework to yard work and also giving driving lessons. Both Bob and Carrie were devoted Catholics and members of St. John's the Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters Mary Ann Green of Topsham and Patricia A. Wilson of England. Two sons Joseph A. Johnson of Bowdoinham and Andy Johnson of Topsham. Four sisters; Herminia Alcala of Lisbon, Luz Reyes, Gloria Santillan and Lily Macaraig all of the Philippines. A brother Angel Alcala also of the Philippines. Seven grandchildren Iain, Sam, Davina, Eric, Becca, Maggie and Andy. A visiting hour will be held Friday, October 21st from 9:30-10:30 AM at Stetson's Funeral Home 12 Federal Street Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM Friday at St. John's the Baptist Church All Saints Parish Pleasant St. Brunswick. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Brunswick. Immediately following the committal prayers at the cemetery the family would like to invite you to join them at the Stetson's Funeral Home Reception Center in the funeral home.
