Obituary

Brunswick-It is with a deep sense of sadness that the family of Danny Profenno announces his sudden passing at his home in Brunswick on Friday, April 2, 2010. He was born May 29, 1958 in Portland the son of Camillo R. Profenno and Evelyn Maguire Ashby. He attended Freeport Schools and was a 1976 graduate of Freeport High School. Dan went on to join the US Navy in 1977 in which he served for two years. He returned home and in 1985 was married and then divorced in 1998. He was affectionately known by many and will lovingly be remembered as a cheerful, kind and friendly individual who enjoyed helping others. Dan worked as a volunteer for a long time at the Brunswick Seventh Day Adventist Community Center as well as doing charitable work for others. He enjoyed spending time with his family and lots of outdoor sports. He was a Deacon at his church and often sang for Special Music and so enjoyed studying the Bible. Danny leaves behind his devoted daughter, Faith Rodriquez and two grandchildren Dante and Lillyanna Rodriquez all of Ensign Kansas, his father Camillo Robert Profenno of Freeport, his mother Evelyn (Maguire) Ashby of Harpswell, brother Timothy Profenno of Gorham, 2 sisters Janice Peaslee of New Gloucester and Kimberly Profenno of Searsport, paternal grandmother Jennie Profenno of Freeport, many nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins. Dan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Sherwood and Isabelle Maquire of Falmouth. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 8 at 11:00 AM at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick with Pastor Robert Farley officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot at Burr Cemetery, Freeport. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Community Services Center, Seventh Day Adventist Church, 84 A Union St., Brunswick, ME 04011 Memorial condolences may be made and a memorial tribute may be viewed at wwwstetstonsfuneralhome.com "We hold you close within our hearts, And there you will remain, To walk with us throughout our lives Until we meet again."
