With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Dawn Marie Soucy, who left this world on February 21, 2024. Born to Jean Soucy Powers in Amarillo, Texas on August 11, 1954, Dawn spent her formative years in a loving family, surrounded by the beauty and simplicity of life. She later moved to Brunswick, Maine, where she resided until her departure.
Dawn was a loving, intelligent, and dedicated woman. She found joy in her work as a waitress in the food service industry, displaying a remarkable dedication to her craft. Her intelligence was not solely confined to her work; she was also deeply passionate about science, particularly astronomy. The night sky was a source of unending fascination for her. Her creativity, too, was evident in her love for painting and movies. She was a spiritual soul with a strong faith in God. The verse from Psalms 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble", was a testament to her unwavering faith.
Above all, Dawn was a family-oriented person. She was never happier than when she was shopping or dining out with her mother, Jeanne Soucy-Powers. She was predeceased by her brother, David Powers, and is survived by her sisters, Darlene Temple and her husband Dennis, Logan Powers, and Darla and her husband Bill Richardson. She also leaves behind her nephews Daniel and Caleb Temple, her niece Ashlie and her husband Rick Haenel, and her grand-nephew Bruce. Each of them will remember Dawn's loving nature, her smart insights, her dedication to the things and people she loved, and her creative spirit.
We invite all who knew and loved Dawn to share their memories and photos on her memorial page. It is through sharing these precious moments that we can keep her spirit alive and honor the beautiful life she led.
