Obituary

Brunswick-Edith Christina "Tina" Baldwin, age 45 of Stanwood Street, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, after a 6 month battle with leukemia. She passed peacefully with family by her side at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. She was born October 2, 1965, in Concord, Mass, the daughter of Peter Tileston Baldwin and Nicole Bellefeuille Baldwin. Her family moved to Maine in September, 1975, where she attended Harpswell and Topsham schools. She graduated from Mt. Ararat High School 1983 and University of Maine at Orono, both with high honors and received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. She started employment at Bookland in Brunswick in 1987, working briefly at the Bath store, and returning as assistant manager of the new Greater Bookland and Café in Brunswick in 1993. In 2001, she became co-owner until its closing in October of 2008. Ms. Baldwin was most recently employed as a receptionist at the Law Offices of McTeauge Higbee. Tina had a passion for reading since she was a child, eventually making it a career, selling books and literature. A certified homebody, she enjoyed playing in her gardens, continuous home projects, and giving full attention to the birds in her backyard. She enjoyed her summers when her mother would come to live with her from Quebec City and her winters were full of Christmas zest. In 2007, she adopted her beloved Beagle, Jess, and her home was complete. She also enjoyed antique toys and games, baking, her Mini Cooper, and traveling whenever possible. Surviving are her mother, Nicole, of Quebec City; her brothers, Thomas Tileston Baldwin and James Tileston Baldwin, both of Brunswick. She was predeceased by her father in 1979, and her brother Andrew Tileston Baldwin in 2005. Also surviving are her godparents, Giselle and Andre Villeneuve, and her aunt Lise Bellefeuille, all of Quebec City. Her uncle, Jean Bellefeuille and his wife Francine, of Montreal, Quebec; her cousins, Anik Villeneuve-Hammond, her husband, Danny, and their daughter Camille of Quebec City; and her best friends Mallory Richter and her son, Mark, of Brunswick, Karla Gagnon of Bath, and Jean Haler of Topsham. She also leaves her adored Beagle, Jess, in the loving arms of friends and family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Mid Coast Hospital including Dr. David Benton and at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center including Dr. Cocav A. Rauwerdink. A celebration of her life will be held at Mackerel Cove Field, Bailey Island at a date to be announced. Donations in her memory may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.   Arrangements are by Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., where memorial condolences may be made and a video tribute viewed at stetsonsfuneralhome.com
