Obituary

BOWDOIN- Mrs. Frances A. (Pinkham) Potter, 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at home. She's the loving wife of the late Brunswick Police Officer Mr. Carroll Potter. Frances was born November 22, 1927, in Bath, Maine. She is the daughter of the late Thurlow M. and Josephine (Cookson) Pinkham. Frances worked at Simpson's Animal Farm and Stinson's Canning Co. for years, then worked at and retired from Hannaford deli/seafood. Lovingly called Franny, Ma, Nana, Other Nana. She achieved the titles of daughter, wife, mother of three, mother-in-law, grandmother (of 4) and great grandmother (of 10) great-great grandmother (of 3). Watching and playing with all the kids in her family gave her great joy. She enjoyed summers "upta camp" with beloved dogs, Sparky and Mitch. She kept her family stocked with dish cloths due to her love of knitting. She also enjoyed traveling the US. She was the family cribbage master and a history buff. Frances will always be remembered for her great sense of humor; she loved to laugh and make others laugh too. She loved books, baking, gardens, fresh vegetables, birdwatching, western movies and Carol Burnett. She was a hard worker, huntress and fisherwoman. In honoring with Frances' wishes there will be no funeral services. She has been laid to rest in Whitefield Cemetery. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Stetson's Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, Maine.
