Frank F. Vonasek, age 64, of Pownal, Maine, formerly of West, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn, Maine.
Frank was born on June 3, 1948 in Waco, Texas to Frank Francis and Iris Marie (Baca) Vonasek of West, Texas. Frank was a life long Catholic embracing his faith. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from West High School. Frank then attended Hill Junior College in Hillsboro, Texas.
Frank attended multiple business management training courses throughout his career and he was active in numerous professional organizations including many years with AAHAM (American Associate of Healthcare Administration Management). Frank was President of AAHAM, Pine Tree Chapter 2008 and VP in 2007. His career started in Credit and Collections. Frank joined Brighton Medical Center in 1988 as Director, Patient Accounts. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1995 and joined Community Hospital of Lancaster as Director, Business Office Services. In 1999, Frank returned to Maine and joined NorDx as Manager, Billing and Contract Compliance. He was promoted to Director, Client Relations in 2001 and has remained in that position. Frank was responsible for Client, Courier, and Billing services and provided excellent customer service to NorDx clients. He was a wonderful colleague and will be dearly missed at NorDx.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother, Millie Baca of West, Texas and his grandparents, Frank Francis and Emma (Heble) Vonasek of Wymore, Nebraska.
Survivors include his fiancé, Rosanne Durgin of Pownal, Maine, brothers, Anthony Vonasek and wife, Debbie of Waco, Texas; Charles Vonasek and wife, DiAnne of Waco, Texas; Patrick Vonasek and wife, Janice of Lorena, Texas; sisters, Vicki Bienski and husband, Tom, of Bryan, Texas; Vivian Whatley and husband, Darrell of Golinda, Texas; Vanette Vonasek of West, Texas and several nieces, nephews along with other relatives and many friends in Maine and Texas.
Frank loved living in the country and enjoyed going out to target shoot with Rosanne. He also took pleasure in hunting and fishing as well as playing bingo.
A Celebration of Frank's life will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Burr Cemetery in Freeport, Maine.
