Topsham- George F. Wibberly, 80, died peacefully on May 3, 2026, after a long illness, with his loving wife by his side. George was born in Milo, Maine one day after the end of World War II, to Vivian (Davis) and Melville Wibberly. He graduated from Milo High School in the class of 1963 and then entered the United States Air Force that same year. George spent most of his AF time a MacDill AFB in Florida. He left the Air Force in 1967 and returned to Milo. In 1970, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Saratoga, USS Ashtabula, two tours in Japan and two tours in Korea where he met and married Seo Won Ok. After a tour of duty with VP-44 at NAS Brunswick, ME, he retired from military service to his home in Topsham. He was subsequently employed by the Navy at Supervisor of Shipbuilding in Bath for more than 15 years before retiring. The family would like to thank Andwell Health Partners for providing excellent care and support to George during his final days. George was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Donald Wibberly; a sister, Dorothea Hodgkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Won Wibberly of Topsham; a brother, Gerald Wibberly and his wife, Barbara of VA; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 13. 2026 at 11:00am at Stetson's Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, ME.
