Gerald Bertrand Dubois, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 20 at Dionne Commons. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Rose Marie, and their 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His full life began on January 26, 1929, in Madawaska, ME to Paul Louis and Marie Clavette Dubois.
He completed trade school in Chicago and served in the Army in the Guided Missile Program during the Korean War. He married Rose Marie Parent in 1954 settling in Hartford, CT where he worked for 15 years at Chandler Evans, before returning home to be Custodial Supervisor for the Madawaska School District.
He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and served as Grand Knight in the Grand Isle Chapter. He also served as Vice Commander for the American Legion Society before moving to St Agatha where he dedicated countless hours to the needs of the church and convent.
Gerald was known for his work with the St. Agatha Historical Society, volunteering many hours during the infancy of the program. He donated many items as well as his carpentry skills constructing their new location. His woodworking and historic replicas are on display in "Gerald's Room" which is dedicated specifically to his woodworking.
Gerald's family and friends were his pride and joy, and they will miss him greatly. May his life with Christ be as exciting and loving as the one here on earth.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 24 at 1PM at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, ME, where condolences memories and photos may be shared with the family at www.stetsonsfuneralhome.com
