Durham- Grace M. Cullum, age 67, died Wednesday, March 6th at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey on May 1, 1956, the daughter of Partrick J. and Josephine Zafonte. She graduated from Glen Ridge high school in 1974.
Grace was blessed to be able to stay home and raise her 3 children. As her children grew older, she accepted a supervisor position at United Parcel Service (UPS).
She loved her Italian heritage and cooking amazing meals for her family from recipes passed down through the generations. She also enjoyed gardening, a good horror book, shopping, a beautiful day soaking up the sun, and talking about her free spirit hippie days. As a youngster she brightened up a room upon entry and went out of her way to befriend those that were bullied. Most of all she cherished and loved her family and her friendships so much.
Grace will be dearly missed.
She married her husband Jim Cullum on December 21st, 1994, where they were happily & lovingly married for 29 years.
Grace is preceded by her parents Patrick J. & Josephine Zafonte.
She is survived by her husband Jim Cullum; children Angela Harvey and her husband John; Christopher Pester and his wife Lisa, and David Pester;
grandchildren CJ, Kaden, Jackson, Madilynn and Anna: brother Charles Zafonte and his wife Joanne; niece Rebecca.
