Brunswick-Gregory J. Sullwold, 63, of Tamarack Drive passed away Tuesday, February 23 at Parkview Adventist Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1946 in Minneapolis Minnesota the son of Myron J. and Victoria Kapinos Sullwold. At the age of 5, he moved to Cresskill, NJ. He was a 1964 graduate of Tenafly High School in Tenafly, NJ. He attended Penn State University and graduated with a BS in Business from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He attended graduate school at DePaul University. On October 18, 1969 he married Carla Maria Verdino. He worked for several non-profit, educational and church organizations. For nearly 25 years, he worked for the Eastern Territory of the Salvation Army, where, at the time of his death he was the Director of Investment Relations and an Assistant Treasurer. In May of 2009, he and his wife moved to Brunswick after vacationing in New England for many years. He enjoyed arts and outdoor activities. He and his wife bread Maine Coon cats and enjoyed their pets. He was a phenomenal cook and enjoyed entertaining. He was a board member of the Friend's of the Library, a former Illinois Rotarian, and belonged to numerous professional and civic organizations. Besides his wife of Brunswick, he is survived by 2 sisters Candace Cannon of Cresskill, NJ and Cynthia Lisi and her husband Paul of Fairlawn, NJ, a brother Kent Sullwold and his wife Barbara of Valley Cottage NY, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 26 at 11AM at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick with Rev. Ronald McLaughlin officiating.
