James (Jim) E. Pattangall, 82, of Brunswick, ME, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Jim was born on March 7, 1943, in Brockton, MA, and was the beloved son of Dolores and Edwin Pattangall. Jim resided much of his life in Whitman, MA, where he raised his family and was the owner of Pattangall Associates for over 35 years as an accountant. He served as a soccer coach for many years in the Town of Whitman. He was a long-time member of Eastern Star, Pilgrim Chapter, No. 89 of East Bridgewater, MA, as a Past Grand Patron and was also Past Grand Patron for Grand Chapter for the State of Massachusetts. James was predeceased by his wife, Ruth-Anne (Rockwell) Pattangall. He is survived by Douglas (Gill) Pattangall of Nebraska, his daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Nick Kolb of Durham, ME; his daughter and her partner Heather Pattangall and Dave DeCarteret of Nashua, NH; Rachel (Pattangall) Turvey of Worcester, MA; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen Pattangall and Dennis Najuch of Indian Trail, NC; he had 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as lots of cousins and nieces/nephews. In lieu of funeral services, Jim's life can be celebrated by making donations to the National Diabetes Foundation or the Berkshire Humane Society in Pittsfield, MA. Jim's ashes will be buried in Melrose Cemetery in Brockton, MA, at the family plot.
