Freeport-Joanna A. Lemont age 74 of Pleasant Hill Road died Sunday March 21st at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Bath on October 11, 1935 the daughter of Albert and Caroline Small Larrabee. Joanna attended the one room Growstown schoolhouse in Brunswick and was a 1953 graduate of Brunswick High School. Joanna then attended the Gorham State Teacher's College until 1957. On May 10, 1968 she married Charles M. Lemont Jr. He died January 26, 2007. Joanna was a devoted mother raising her family. She took great pride in raising her family making sure that her children had everything they needed and always having supper ready for them. Joanna was an expert seamstress sewing numerous clothing articles including wedding attire and the Freeport's Marching Band uniforms for many years. Joanna also enjoyed stamp collecting, gardening and loved family camping. She particularly enjoyed camping with her family at Pemaquid, Damariscotta Lake and Mt. Blue. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 202, Topsham. Surviving is three daughters Teresa Hayward and her husband Bradley of Freeport, Lisa Roye and her husband Rick of Monroe and Caroline "Kate" Lemont and her companion Mark Merrill of Brunswick. A son Albert Lemont and his wife Kimberly of Frankfort. Three stepsons, John "Jack" Lemont and his wife Virginia; Donald Lemont and his wife Patricia all of Brunswick and Robert Lemont of Topsham. A step daughter Gail Bartels of Waterville. A sister Carolyn Neidt and her husband Albert of Norway. Also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, March 24th from 2-4 & 6-8PM at Stetson's Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 25th at 11 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery Brunswick at a later date.
