Brunswick- JoAnne Moore, 87, of Brunswick, Maine, passed away on April 26, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
JoAnne Moore was born on March 26, 1939, to William and Anne Hefferan in Osceola Mills, PA. JoAnne graduated from the Phillipsburg Osceola Senior High school in 1957. JoAnne met the love of her life, James P. Moore, in 1959 while JoAnne was a nursing student at Temple University in Philadelphia.
After JoAnne's graduation, the two were married at Immaculate Conception Church in Osceola Mills, PA on September 9, 1961, going on to have three sons, Jim, Bill, and Jack. JoAnne demonstrated to all that family comes first by putting her nursing career on hold and raising her three sons. Family meant more than anything to her. JoAnne's love and support were invaluable. As a kind and loving mother, she provided her sons with the security and confidence to succeed.
JoAnne specialized in pediatric nursing care, working as a registered nurse at hospitals in New Jersey, Virginia and Maine, including over a decade at Regional Memorial Hospital in Brunswick. She was a devout member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Brunswick where she regularly attended Mass since 1980. In addition to her passion of providing nursing care to kids, JoAnne enjoyed cooking, gardening, oil painting and reading about American history.
JoAnne was predeceased by her husband, James P. Moore, parents, William E. and Anne Hefferan and brothers Gerald and William J., leaving behind sons and grandsons as well as their wives. She was the loving mother of James M. Moore, Esq. (Mary), William E. Moore (Sandy) and John P. Moore; loving grandmother of Brendan (Maria), Nicholas (Morgan), Ryan, Sean, James and Michael Moore as well as step grandsons Jack, Bobby, Luke and Daniel Schurman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 132 McKeen Street, Brunswick, ME on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:00am. Burial will be private in St. John Cemetery in Brunswick. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, ME.
