Topsham- June K. Sherman, age 88, of Foreside Road, passed away Sunday, October 9th at Parkview Adventist Medical Center. She was born February 15, 1923 in Wayland, MA, the daughter of John H. and Sarah J. Moore Hyde.
She graduated from Brunswick High School in the early 1940's and married Charles M. Lemont Jr. in 1941. They had 3 sons and, were later divorced. On April 16, 1948 she married William Sherman becoming a military wife and having two daughters. William died on June 9, 1991.
June lived a life of spiritual service and was very active in her church, the Church of Christ in Brunswick. She was a great person who touched a lot of people's lives and everyone who met her loved her. She enjoyed doing crafts including knitting, crocheting and cross stitching. She made many sweaters, mittens and other articles both for her family and to donate to kids in the community. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and even rooted for the San Francisco Giants and 49'rs. June was a loving Mom, grand-mother, great-grand mother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons John C. Lemont and his wife Virginia and Donald M. Lemont and his wife Patricia, all of Brunswick, and Robert W. Lemont of Topsham, two daughters Lynda E. Sowl and her husband Don of Santa Rosa, CA and Leslie E. Shafer and her husband Tim of San Francisco, CA. two brothers Robert Hyde and his wife Ruth of Bowdoin and Richard Hyde and his wife Carol of Topsham, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and grand- nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband William Sherman, brother John Hyde Jr. and Sister Shirley M. Hyde.
Visiting hours will be held from 6-8PM Tuesday, October 11th at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick where a funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, October 12th. Burial will be at a later date in Amador Memorial Cemetery, Pioneer, CA.
