Brunswick-Loretta Ann Pilley Aubertine, age 92, of Baribeau Drive and formerly of Portsmouth, New Hampshire died Wednesday, September 15th,at the Mid Coast Senior Health Center-Mere Point Unit. She was born in Belfast,ME on September 9, 1918, the daughter of Calvin and Mary Maroney Pilley. Loretta graduated from Crosby High School of Belfast, Maine in 1936and the Maine School of Commerce in Portland. For over thirty years Mrs. Aubertine worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and was a longtime resident of Portsmouth before moving to Brunswick to be closer to her family, after her husband William J. Aubertine's death in 1985. Loretta studied voice, piano, and dance in her early years, and in her later years enjoyed golf and bowling. Loretta volunteered during the development and restoration of Portsmouth's "Strawberry Bank" where she served as a "Colonial Lady". Loretta attended the Immaculate Conception and St. Catherine of Siena Churches in Portsmouth, and later St. Charles Borromeo Church- All Saints Parish in Brunswick. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her parents and her brother, John, who died serving in the Army during WWII. Surviving are two sisters: Jennie P. Hanks of Brunswick and Margaret P. White of Topsham; four nieces: Nancy Hanks Laitala, Mary Hanks White, Elizabeth Hanks Leonard, all of Brunswick, Jo Anne WhiteQuittmeyer of Bucksport, and anephew, Stephen A. Hanks, of Brunswick. She is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 21st at 10 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish, 132 McKeen Street, Brunswick, with a reception to follow at the church. Interment will follow at 2 pm at Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Arrangements are by Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick.
