Obituary

Brunswick- Louis David Fucini, age 87, formerly of Wadsworth St., passed away on October 7, 2012 at Thornton Hall. Louis was born on January 10, 1925 in Bristol, CT, the son of Catullo and Theresa Perotti Fucini. He graduated from Bristol High School and enlisted in the Navy, where he served from 1943 to 1946. While in the Navy Louis went to schools for radio operator, radar, gunnery and operational flight training, all at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Louis studied at Bryant College in Providence, RI from which he graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1949 and later flew in combat as a crewman on a B-29 Super Fortress during the Korean War, for which he received the Korean War Service Medal. Louis retired from the Air Force in 1968, after which he worked for the Pinellas County Florida Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff, retiring with the rank of court bailiff. He was an avid ham radio operator. He especially enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, and was lifelong fan of the Red Sox and Celtics. Louis married Marjorie Mae Robb on January 27, 1956. Marjorie predeceased him on March 20, 2009 after 53 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Constance Murphy. Louis is survived by his brother Albert Primo John Fucini and his wife Beatrice of Bristol, CT; two sons, Michael and wife Jennifer of Durham, ME and Stephen and wife Maria of Lebanon, NH; his former daughter-in-law Stella Richard and her husband Louis of Gardner, ME; grandchildren Kristina Fucini of Auburn, ME, Louis Fucini, Elizabeth Fucini and Andrew Fucini, all of Goose Creek, SC, James Fucini of Lebanon, NH, Donna Colford of Bangor, ME and Frank Grover of Spring Lake, NC; great grandchildren Ava Lynn, Madison Leigh, Bradley Louis, Jacob Michael and Kale Timothy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will he held on Saturday, October 13th from 11:30 AM to 1PM at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick where a service will be held following visiting hours at 1PM. Military honors will be held at the funeral home and burial at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Thornton Hall for their fine care of Louis in his final months, with a special thanks to Dr. Roy Nakamura of Martins Point who took excellent care of both him and his wife Marjorie for many years.
