Brunswick- M. France Kelley, age 89 of Baribeau Drive died Wednesday, January 29th at her home. She was born in Brunswick on April 3, 1924, the daughter of George and Delia Tardiff St. Onge.
She attended Mount Merici Academy in Waterville. She worked at a bank in Boston where she met her future husband John T. Kelley.
For twenty years she worked as a tax collector for the Town of Brunswick. She was a purchaser for manufacturing at L.L. Bean for 15 years, retiring in 1994. After retiring she enjoyed her travels to Europe and France in particular.
France provided both of her parents with excellent care before their deaths. She also took care of other family members as well.
France was a great sports enthusiast and enjoyed cheering at Bowdoin College hockey games as well as for many of her son's hockey games. She was famous for her holiday parties, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
Surviving is a son, Gregory Kelley and his companion Karen Suing of Edwards, CO, one brother, John St. Onge of Brunswick, one sister, Sr. Florence St. Onge, O.S.U. of Wellesley Hills, MA, her best friend, Carolyn Morse and nieces and nephews, Mark St. Onge, Michael St. Onge, Tina Fogg, Matthew St. Onge and John St. Onge.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Lillian, Martine, and Georgette St. Onge.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 3rd at 11AM at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick with Fr. Frank Murray Officiating. Burial in the spring will be in St. John's Cemetery, Brunswick.
