Obituary

TOPSHAM - Marie-Anne "Marianne" Racine Bowen, 64, of Topsham passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6th, 2026, after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dana Bowen of Topsham, two daughters; Meghan Bowen of Brunswick, and Erin Bailey (Jacob) of Madison, two beautiful grandsons, Zane and Charlie Bailey, her mother, Simone Racine of Brunswick, a brother, Jimé Racine (Tiffany) of Dayton, two sisters Paulette Hoppesch (Dean) of Schaumburg, IL and Sandra Lano (Jeffrey) of Freeport, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Marianne was predeceased by her father, Emile Racine (2019), and a brother Stephen John (1967). Marianne was born on October 25, 1961, in New Britain, Connecticut to Emile and Simone (Doyon) Racine. The second of five children, and oldest daughter, she was responsible, generous and loving. She received a B.A. in Music (UMaine Orono), where she sang and played violin, and a B.S. Accounting (Westbrook College). She was a professional accountant for nearly 35 years and served as a Girl Scout Leader for over a decade. Marianne was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church, where she was married in 1984. She served in the Daughters of Isabella and Sew Blessed ministry. She crocheted afghans and baby blankets for all the newly married couples and newly born babies in the family and her group of friends and coworkers. Marianne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visiting hours for Marianne will be held at St. Johns the Baptist Church in Brunswick, Maine, on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30am, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at the same location at 11:00 am. We invite all those who knew and loved Marianne to join us in celebrating her life.
