Pamela Murphy, a beloved mother, grandmother, and daughter, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. Pamela was born on June 3, 1954, and grew up in Douglaston, New York, alongside her parents and two brothers.
Pamela was known for her warm spirit and her ability to make others feel welcome. She brought comfort and light to those around her. Family was at the center of her life, and she took immense pride in the relationships she nurtured.
Pam is survived by her daughter, Erin Dimbleby of Brunswick, Maine, and son-in-law, Eric, along with her three cherished grandchildren, Nolan, Isaac, and Amity. She also leaves behind her son, Shawn Murphy of Pascoag, Rhode Island, his fiancée, Vallerie, and her two sons, Mason and Liam. Affectionately known as "Grammy Pammy," she was always dependable, calm, and ready to have fun with her family. Her love of dance took over at every family gathering, where she could often be found smiling, dancing to the music, and encouraging others to join in. Pamela adored spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her grand-dogs, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
She leaves behind her beloved mother, June Jones (Ellinwood), and her brother, Michael Jones, both of Douglaston, New York, as well as her nieces, nephews, and many loving cousins. Pamela shared a special bond with her extended family, and she will be fondly remembered for her presence at family gatherings, her steady support, and the warmth she brought to those relationships.
Pamela was predeceased by her husband, John F. Murphy, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage; her father, Harry Benjamin Jones, Sr.; her brother, Harry Benjamin Jones, Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Jones.
Throughout her life, Pamela was dedicated and hardworking. Through the decades, she held positions with several employers, including the State of Rhode Island and Stop & Shop. Her strong work ethic and reliability were evident in every role she took on.
Nearly ten years ago, Pamela moved from Rhode Island to Maine to be closer to her grandchildren—a decision that reflected her deep love and commitment to family. There, she embraced a simple, calm, mostly retired life. Never wanting to fully retire, she worked at Shaw's supermarket part-time. She found joy in everyday pleasures, including watching reality television and QVC, attending local theater, and especially following her favorite show, "Dancing With The Stars."
Pamela will be remembered for her compassion and unwavering love for those closest to her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made in Pamela's name to your local VFW. Pamela always felt a strong desire to help Veterans because of her father's service in WWII.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 21st, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, at Assados Kitchen and Bar in Harmony, Rhode Island. All family and close friends are welcome to come celebrate Pamela's life. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Steston's Funeral Home, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, ME. www.StetsonsFuneralHome.com
