Washington, ME-Paul R Connell (67 yrs) died on July 29th at home following an extended illness at home.
He was born in Cambridge, MA on 9/16/1944 to Paul E. and Mary P. (Engel) Connell. Much of his childhood was spent in the Boston area. He attended Cathedral High and later graduated from Boston State College with a Bachelor's Degree and Northeastern University with a Master's in Humanities. For 36 years he taught at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, MA. During his last 10 years at Quinsigamond, he served as the Chair of the Humanities Department.
Paul had many diverse interests, including bird hunting, sailing, photography, and graphics design. As a professor, he composed yearbooks, school papers, and poetry. After he retired, he devoted his hours to developing his own photographic works and publications for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Washington, ME; his son, Michael and his wife Andrea; his granddaughter, Emily; his sister, Mary Ellen Connell and her spouse Katherine; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, August 2nd from 4-5PM at Stetson's Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 3rd at 3PM at St. Denis Church 298 Grand Army Road in Whitefield, ME.
