Obituary

Harpswell- Robert Max Bibber died unexpectedly on Friday Oct 7th at his home in Harpswell. He was born to Emily Rush and Elroy Bibber in an apartment over a boat house on Pott's Point in Harpswell ME. He lost his mother at a young age leading to his time in foster homes with his brother Elroy Jr. Bobby found his way back to Harpswell at the age of 17. He soon found himself a job lobstering with a man named Buster Estes. He again left Harpswell to see the world with the Marine Corps. While in the Marines he took leave to pursue his love to one day fly. Shortly after entering college to be a pilot he got word that Buster had passed and his widow needed help with the lobstering. Bobby rose to the occasion, returning once again to Harpswell, helping raise Buster's son as well. He worked hard and earned enough to buy the business and home of his mentor. He soon married Gail Whitten and they had four children, Deborah, Corinne, Diane, and Robert Jr. They later divorced. He then married Marolyn Cole and their love blossomed into two daughters Cynthia, and Heather. Bobby was always a hard worker and always wanted to look out for others. He co-founded Interstate Lobster and built his own business calling it Bibber Lobster. Bibber Lobster was well-loved within the community. He was always willing to lend a hand to his community and his neighbors even if they didn't ask. He was predeceased by his brother Elroy Jr. and survived by his sisters Shirley and Susan. He has left behind his wife Marolyn, 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. He was loved and will be missed. A visitation and remembrance is scheduled for Friday Oct 14th at Stetson's Funeral Home 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, ME from 6PM to 8PM.
