Bailey Island - Robert W. Nahf Jr., age 73, died Wednesday, April 21st at Sedgewood Commons, Falmouth. He ended a ten-year journey through Alzheimer's disease with Mary Ann, his spouse of 48 years, at his side. He was born in Union, NJ, the son of Robert and Grace Nahf. He graduated from Union High School in 1953 and NY Institute of Photography in 1957. Prior to moving to Bailey Island in 2000, Bob and Mary Ann lived in North Plainfield, NJ. Bob worked as an industrial photographer at Lockheed Electronics for 29 years and after retirement continued in his profession as a videographer. He was a skilled woodworker, and also enjoyed sharing his love of fishing, baseball, chess, and photography with his children Lisa and Robert. He was an active troop committee member for Boy Scout Troop 235 for 15 years, and volunteered his time and talents to the NPHS Music Parents Association, and the Friends of Vermeule Mansion. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his daughter, Lisa Ann, son-in-law, Bart and grandchildren Bram and Kate Vanhoutte, of Rotselaar, Belgium; his son, Robert William, III, daughter-in-law, Corinne, and grandchildren Avery, Miles, and Tessa of Albuquerque, NM; his sister Joan Herdegen and brother-in-law Richard of Bailey Island. . The memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15th, 11:00 am at Johnson Field, Mackerel Cove, Bailey Island.
