Steven Emond Marquis
November 27, 1954 - November 12, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband and father. Steve was a remarkable man whose kindness, wisdom, and strength touched everyone who knew him. His unwavering love for his family and friends was felt in every word he spoke and every choice he made
Steve devoted his life to his family, always putting the needs of others before his own. He was a source of steady guidance and encouragement, teaching all by example the values of integrity, compassion, and resilience. His sense of humor, gentle spirit, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Whether it was sharing a story around the campfire, riding his side by side and snowmobile, working on firewood, or spending time at his camp in Eustis, Steve enjoyed all of life's simple pleasures. His "one liners", sarcastic remarks and very dry sense of humor will forever be cherished. Steve's legacy of love and laughter will live on in the memories we hold dear and, in the stories, we continue to share.
Steve's professional life as a Crane Inspector took him around the world to ensure the safety of many. The bulk of his career found him in Boston, starting with the Big Dig project and continuing on every major construction project in the city. His work connected him with many people as he shared his passion for crane safety.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Deb; daughter, Megan; son, Broc; daughter in-law, Emily and extended family who will forever cherish his memory. We are grateful for the time we had with him and for the lessons he imparted, which will remain with us always.
A celebration of life will be held at Mast Landing Brewery in Freeport, ME on Wednesday November 19, from 5pm to 9pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Maine Paws for Veterans in his memory.
Steve will forever remain in our hearts.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Stetson's Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, Maine.
Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Stetson's Funeral Home website, www.stetsonsfuneralhome.com
