Lewiston-Theresa A. Bell, 101, died peacefully on September 4, 2026, at Thornton Hall Assisted Living in Brunswick.

Theresa was born in Lewiston, Maine on June 6, 1925, and attended local schools. Later on, she was employed working in shoe shops doing piecework, before working for her father, maintaining his books, payroll, collecting the rent for his various properties, as well as being responsible for the maintenance thereof.

In 1946 she married Romeo Lacasse and they had 2 children, and after a short time, they separated. In 1960 she married Roger Bell who had 2 children and together they had 3 children and made a home together. Theresa had other jobs in her life, including taking care of two elderly woman for a brief time. While raising her children, she took care of the home, raised pigs, chickens, calves, and occasionally other assorted animals. She loved to garden and processed the food to feed the family through the winter months. She raised her children to have strong work ethic. After her children grew up and left home, she became involved in Senior citizen groups and would often take trips with them. She would also take weekly trips to Oxford casino, and when she could no longer drive, family members would drive her.

Theresa was predeceased by her parents John N. Jutras, Corina (Choiniere) Jutras, her 1st husband Romeo Lacasse, her 2nd husband Roger Bell, her sons Leo Bell, George Lacasse, & Peter Bell, and by her daughter Lorraine Lacroix. She is also predeceased by her siblings Conrad, Alfred, Maurice, Armand Jutras and Alice (Jutras) Mathieu. She is survived by 3 children Elaine (Bernie) Bilodeau, Corina Waters, and Doreen (Brian) Cromwell, 15 grandchildren, and numerous great and great, great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at St. Peters cemetery in Lewiston on September 18, 2026, at 2:00pm. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Stetsons Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, ME.
