Topsham- Thomas R. Green, age 53 of Barrows Drive, passed away Tuesday, March 22nd at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn. He was born September 3, 1957 in Honolulu, HI, the son of George R. and Rose Kalei Farm Green.
He graduated from Seaside High School in Seaside, CA and enlisted in the Marine Corps in January of 1976. He married Mary Ann Johnson on December 31, 1981 at Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station in HI. They moved to Jacksonville NC and eventually to Maine after his retirement in 1985. Tom later worked at Brunswick Naval Air Station in security then as a woodworker in the Supply Department. He then worked at the Submarine Base New Londonin Groton, CT as a pipefitter.
Tom enjoyed bowling, drawing and collecting different types of trading cards. (He was forever trying give people trading cards or comic books they might like.) He liked listening to show tunes and watching musicals on TV. He especially enjoyed eating Chinese food and going to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Tom appreciated staying in touch with his brothers and their families.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years (he liked to tell people it would be 30 years on Dec. 31st), Mary Ann Green of Topsham, 2 sons Samuel Green of Topsham and Eric Green of Groton, CT, his mother Rose Green, 4 brothers George Green and his wife Lani, Robert Green and his wife Dorothy, Ronald Green and Nathan Green, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father and sister Marian Green.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 25th from 5-7PM at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A mass of Christian Burial with military honors will be celebrated Saturday, March 26th at 10AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish, 132 McKeen St., Brunswick with the Rev. Frank Murray officiating. A reception will follow at Stetson's Funeral Home Reception Center. Burial at St. John's Cemetery, Brunswick will be in the spring.
