Obituary

LISBON FALLS - Bill Palmertree, 70 of Lisbon Falls passed away peacefully on March 10th, 2024, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn surrounded by family. Born July 31st, 1953, to William Palmertree Sr. and Lottie Ashley Palmertree in Junction City, Kansas. Bill graduated from Brunswick High School in 1972. He spent many years working for Cottle's Supermarket before eventually going to work as a shipfitter at Bath Iron Works where he retired after 33 years due to illness. Bill married Cheryl Dill on April 28th, 2001, after being together for 19 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, stepfather, brother, uncle and great uncle. As well as giving out his famous one-dollar bills to his nieces and nephews whom he loved with all his heart. He loved spending his time watching sports whether it be the Red Sox, Patriots, one of his many nieces and nephew's sports games or playing in a softball league for many years in the Brunswick/Lisbon area. He enjoyed going to the casino, but spending time with his wife, his beloved cats, family and their pets is what he cherished most. Bill is survived by his wife Cheryl Palmertree of Lisbon Falls, stepson Jeremy Dill of Freeport, brother Bobby Palmertree and wife Edie of Brunswick, sisters Cindy Lemont of Phippsburg, Patty Clark and husband Tom of Harpswell, sisters-in-law Becky Porter and Dede Chase as well as his aunt Marjorie Bruce and her husband, Ken of Ackerman, Mississippi and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on April 14th from 1pm-3pm at The Federal Hotel located at 10 Water Street in Brunswick, ME. Rest in peace Bill, you will forever be in our hearts. In memory, contributions can be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
